Marimekko Dissapoints

Sigh, what a disappointment. This is my minimal, lack luster review. My mom and I woke up early thinking it was going to be a fiasco. As we arrived to an empty parking lot at 7:55 (store opens at 8am) we had to make to sure we there on the right day. As we entered target we saw the 2 racks of the Marimekko collaboration and were immediately let down by the fabric quality and small selection. Unfortunately, the Target store we chose has very low response to collaborations, so our pickings were small.

Looks cute in photos, but that's about it. If I had a daughter I would've purchased the matching dresses and bathing suits, just cause. This location also didn't have ANY of the home-ware items! What a bust.

Back in the Groove with Cheap Smell Goods!!

Yes, she's back!! She, being me. And I have a whole new outlook on my blog and where it exist within the whole blogosphere. I also kind of forgot that I was interesting and that I have really great ideas that people like you would want to hear. My mom came to me asking advice on how to start a blog and I gave her all of this great advice to only realize, "girl, why aren't you taking your OWN advice?" So I'm taking my own advice after a year and some change hiatus.

Let's talk smell goods! What is a "smell good?" A "smell good" is basically a perfume, oil, or lotion that bonds well with your body chemistry and has people breaking they necks to smell you leading them to ask "what are you wearing" or they tell you about how amazing you smell. For instance, my mother ever since I can remember has always been the best smelling woman in the world. She just has the best taste in everything really, but especially when it comes to fragrances. She knows them all and can literally tell you whether or not if a scent is going to work for you. She is the connoisseur of perfumes, cosmetics, clothes, food, basically life. She also can afford to buy all those fancy perfumes and ~sigh~ I cannot. So instead I invested in two really expensive ones but keep some cheaper ones for everyday use. Below are my two favorite under $10 knock off imposter fragrances.

Ham Bone & Kale Crock Pot

Hopefully you saved the ham bone from Christmas because you need to make this soup. I found this recipe on pinterest.com, and my new obsession is actually cooking what I pin and letting you all know whether or not it's worthy of re-pinning.

Here's what hers looks like:

Here's mine...lol

This recipe was so yummy. It's not something I'm going to try and make every night, but it was definitely something  out of the norm and very delicious.

Because I Don't Have A Scentsy. But I Do Have A Lot of Scents!

See what I did there? Don't you hate it when your favorite scented candles little life is all over? I know a lot of people have been buying the Scentsy but that seems a little gimmicky to me. So I decided to make my own Scentsy and didn't even have to leave the house y'all! Everything you will need is right in the kitchen.

I took an old skillet and lined it with aluminum foil, then I scrapped out the wax from an old candle and put it in the skillet on low heat.

Within about two minutes my entire apartment smelled as if I had a candle burning for hours. I left it on the stove for no more than 10 minutes.

Audience: "You mean I don't have to toss out those expensive candles anymore or go buy a $25 warmer?"

Kandiss: "No girl!"

Audience: " WHAT!? "

I honestly think I'm so crafty now because of this. Cheap thrills y'all.

The best Pink for Medium-to-Dark Skin Tones.

I am a connoisseur of pink cosmetics. I can tell you exactly where you need to go to get the best pink blushes, gloss, and polish. Not everyone can wear the same shade of pink obviously, but sometimes it's especially hard to find a good match when you have a darker skin tone. For medium-to-dark skin tones try and stay away from pale pinks, they'll make your lips look chapped and your cheeks ashy.

My favorite pink lip liner is Eastend Snob by Rimmel and it's under $5. It matches perfectly with my #1 go to pink lipstick FAVE(no other color compares trust me) Angel by MAC cosmetics. This shade was made really popular by Kim Kardashian, which goes to show you how versatile this shade is.

I tend to like my nails matching my lipstick, English Rose by Rimmel is the perfect match to MAC's Angel. It literally looks like you painted your nails with lipstick , that kind of perfect match.

All I need now is to find some heels and a bag that match. Now where can I go to make that happen?

Kandiss Dee
